On December 9th our St. John the Baptist parish celebrated the feast of St. Nicholas (according the the Gregorian calendar this feast falls on December 6th). Everyone likes to receive gifts and so this is the children’s favorite feast. The celebration started with a Divine Liturgy and following the Liturgy everyone gathered in the church hall where the children received gifts and expressed their gratitude to St. Nicholas.

St. Nicholas also visited the children in our St. John’s Preschool. Small children believe in St. Nicholas with their whole hearts and for them this was a very exciting event.

St. Nicholas serves us with an example of generosity and encourages each of us to open our hearts and to share with others that with which we have been blessed.
